Real Talk.

My brain works a bit differently. I'm dyslexic. It shows up in the way I decode unfamiliar words; I rely on sounding things out rather than instantly recognizing them. This trained me to hold two thought streams at once, decoding while still listening and engaging, something that’s become a surprising strength. It sharpened my visual reasoning, helped me spot patterns, and gave me a knack for explaining complex ideas clearly. Paired with strong intuition and emotional intelligence, it’s shaped how I move through creative and social spaces. And while I’ve found ways around it and barely notice its impact as an adult, it’s given me a deep empathy for others who are wired differently.

I’ve always been fascinated by people, what drives them, connects them, and how they behave in groups. I devour anything to do with psychology, sociology, or human dynamics. Thinkers like Brené Brown helped me articulate instincts I’ve had since childhood: I don’t just notice what people do, I want to understand why. That mindset helps me stay curious, ask better questions, and build bridges across difference.

Growing up in the theatre, I loved watching rehearsals even more than performances. They were alive with possibility; problems being solved in real time, scenes rewritten on the fly. I’d sit in the audience trying to spot what wasn’t working and imagine how it might be fixed. During breaks, I’d quiz my mom (a choreographer), build makeshift stages, and rope dancers into acting out my imagined scenes. That was my version of play.

In many ways, it still is. I thrive in collaborative, creative environments where ideas take shape in real time. I love helping others do their best work, finding clarity in complexity, and bringing energy to a shared vision.

That’s my thing.
